The Department of War has made public a declassified video recording showing a formation of unidentified aerial phenomena and unidentified submerged objects captured during a military operation. The footage was released through the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, in accordance with the Department’s PURSUE policy framework aimed at increasing transparency around such incidents.
Filed under reference number PR52, the video was recorded in 2021 by a sensor platform operating in the Pacific Ocean. Metadata accompanying the footage indicates that multiple objects were tracked moving together in a coordinated formation. One of the objects was observed transitioning from the air into the water. The filename specifies that the objects were assigned the callsign “Mission” and were categorized as a UAP-USO formation.
The Department of War has not identified the specific platform or sensor type that captured the footage. The video depicts objects that appear to lack any visible means of propulsion.
The released materials do not include information on whether the objects were ever identified or whether they posed any threat to military operations. The release is part of the Department’s ongoing commitment to the PURSUE policy, which requires the declassification of UAP-related materials whenever possible. AARO, operating under the Office of the Secretary of Defense, is responsible for analyzing such incidents.
The office has the authority to request additional data from the unit that recorded the footage, interview the operators involved, and conduct further technical analysis of the event. AARO has stated that it will review the footage along with any associated sensor logs as part of its investigation.
The release of this video comes at a time of increased congressional oversight of UAP incidents. The Department of War has emphasized that the video does not confirm extraterrestrial origins and that standard identification processes remain ongoing. The report does not speculate on the nature of the objects captured in the footage.
Moving forward, AARO may request additional data from the mission’s operators and sensor logs. The office can also interview personnel involved to clarify the event.
Further declassifications are expected as part of the PURSUE framework, with additional releases anticipated in the future as the Department continues its transparency efforts regarding unidentified anomalous phenomena.
